Yes! The Pedal Crusher is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) service, and all drinks are only to be consumed while on the bike. For your convenience, you can also purchase beers directly from Barnhouse Napa, our designated pick-up location.

Here are our beverage guidelines:

Allowed Beverages: You may bring or purchase beer, wine, cider, and hard seltzer.

Quantity Limits: Each passenger may have a maximum of 2 drinks per person on board. This can be up to 36 oz of beer (7.0% ABV or less) or up to 16 oz of wine per person.

Cooler Provided: We provide a cooler for your beverages, so there is no need to bring your own.

Containers: All beverages must be in plastic or aluminum containers. No glass, no hard alcohol, and no mixed drinks or cocktails are allowed. All containers must fit in a standard cup holder; anything oversized will not be permitted on the cart.

Original Containers: All beverages must be in their original, unopened, and labeled containers upon boarding.

Note: Any leftover beers will be kept on the crusher and cannot be taken with you at the end of the tour.

The passengers are responsible for pedaling and the power of the Pedal Crusher. A Napa Pedal Crusher employee, who serves as the “captain,” is also on board at all times to operate the bike and to ensure the overall safety of the passengers.

Private tours require a minimum of 4 passengers to pedal, but it’s definitely a workout. We recommend at least 6-10 passengers per tour. The more the merrier. We require 4 people for our Public Tours to begin.

The bike can hold 16. It is outfitted with 12 seats with pedals, 2 seats above the back wheels. No one is allowed to stand in the middle while moving, per city laws.

Very simply, the Pedal Crusher is a 16-person bicycle, manually powered by its passengers and operated by a “captain”, that is ideal for just about every type of group outing/celebration imaginable – from bar-hopping with friends to team-building with colleagues. It’s a fun, easy and safe way to socialize while enjoying local sights and being outdoors.

General operating hours are 10a.m to 9 p.m daily, although we can start earlier upon request. The first tour starts at 10am and the last at 7pm.

The bike averages speeds of to 9 miles per hour maximum.

Tipping isn’t required, but your Captain greatly appreciates any gratuity. Our Captains work very hard to ensure you have a safe and awesome time! Standard etiquette suggests that tipping ranges between 18-25%, but please feel free to use your own judgment based on your overall experience.

You’ll be able to view our calendar for the schedule of availability. Then simply click on an open time that will work for your group and input your credit card information to reserve the bike. Payment in full is required to make a reservation. We’ll send you an email confirming your reservation, as well as a receipt. Your Captain will also email you a couple days before the tour to introduce themselves and confirm the details with you.We are able to run custom routes.

We ask that the group start and end together, as we spend 10-15 minutes prior to departure going over the rules, expectations, safety and answer any of your questions. We also require each passenger to sign a liability waiver. So if we are picking up new members of your group midway through the tour- it will just take time away from your rental period, as we will have to have each passenger sign a liability waiver and go over the rules again. However, we understand that sometimes someone may be running late, you want to surprise someone, etc- so we are able to accommodate that if you let us know ahead of time.

You will be charged a late fee if you do not return the Pedal Crusher to the starting point on time. The time it takes to complete a tour is dependent on the people pedaling, as they determine the speed. During the tour, the Captain will remind the renter of route progress and time remaining, but it is the renter’s responsibility to make sure the bike is returned on time – NOT the Captain’s. We have tested all routes and know how long they take. We book tours back to back, so the later you are the bigger the late fees are, as you are cutting into the next renters time. We do our best to keep you on schedule, so as your tour is nearing the end, please be respectful of the tour after you and get the bike back on time!

Yes, and sort of. Passengers must be at least 21 years old to ride, and must sign our waiver form to board the Napa Pedal Crusher. Pedaling passengers ideally should be at least 5’3” tall to be able to comfortably reach the pedals. Shorter passengers are still welcome to ride but are encouraged to take a bench seat.

Yes. We run our tours rain or shine. There is a roof on the Napa Pedal Crusher that keeps our passengers fairly dry, we also have disposable ponchos available. Unless it’s really pouring or there is a severe thunderstorm with lightning no refund will be given for rain cancellation, the show will roll on. If it is absolutely nasty out or unsafe to be on the road, we will issue you a refund or rain check. Calling a tour due to weather is up to the discretion of the company/Captain.

Yes, the Napa Pedal Crusher is very safe. Your safety is of utmost importance to us. Your Captain will do everything possible to provide a safe environment. However, just like riding any bike, there is some risk of danger and possibly falling off – especially if you’re not careful or are behaving irresponsibly while on board. Our bikes also have seat backs and seat belts on them for additional safety. We offer bike helmets, but they are not required to ride.

Canceling 72+ hours before your ride? You're good to go! We’ll issue a refund minus a $20 service fee.

Within 72 hours of your ride? We don’t offer refunds this close to your tour, but we do offer:

Free rescheduling, or

Full credit toward your next Napa Pedal Crusher ride.

***IMPORTANT*** If we are not able to book a MINIMUM OF 4 SEATS the bike will not go out, for physical reasons of pedaling the bike. We will contact you if there are less than 4 seats booked for your time slot to try and coordinate a different departure. If we are unable to meet this minimum, we will refund your payment if we are unable to reschedule your reservation.

Terms:

All passengers on tours visiting local breweries, clubs, or bars must be over the age of 21. Please be prepared to provide photo ID and have already signed the Release of Liability Waiver online.

If there is inappropriate behavior, we have the authority to terminate a tour.

Inappropriate behavior will result in early termination of the tour and a forfeiture of all deposits and fees by the customer(s) who violated our terms. Examples include but are not limited to:

Extreme intoxication
Excessive noise
Loitering more than 5 minutes after tour
Public urination
Littering

All tours start and end at the same place You may not abandon the tour by staying at the last brew stop, and if you choose to do so, there will be an automatic $75 charge to the credit card the tour was booked with.

Please have a designated driver for the ride home or plan to call a taxi. Please remember…Don’t drink and drive!
